Challenging the recovery of benefits overpayments and hardship payments July 2024

This is the recording of the Challenging the recovery of benefits overpayments and hardship payments webinar on Wednesday 17 July 2024, from 10:00 to 12:00.

The session explained the DWP’s current policy on waiving recovery of benefit overpayments, the impact that overpayment recovery has on claimant benefit awards and the steps that individuals can take to challenge this recovery. The webinar also looked at look at PLP’s research on the impact and use of deductions by the DWP, as well as the government’s amendment on the remuneration regulations for payment of Welfare Benefits Legal Help work as of 1 April 2023.
